Breaking: FRSC recalls Sector Commander, others for cutting hair of female officers

The Federal Road Safety Corps has recalled with immediate effect the Commander of the Rivers State Sector Command, Andrew Kumapayi, and others who on Monday openly cut the hair of female officers.
The female officers were accused of spotting long hairs, which did not allow their caps to sit fittingly on their heads.
Also inspected by the team was the finger nails of the road marshals.
However, the Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has frowned at the development, which caused a rage in the media, especially the social media, on Monday.
Oyeyemi has thus recalled Kumapayi and other officers who carried out the cutting of the hair.
Speaking with The Eagle Online early on Tuesday morning, the FRSC’s Head of Media and Strategy, Commander Bisi Kazeem, said Kumapayi and others went beyond theirs and the Commission’s mandate by their action.
Kazeem said the Corps has ways of dealing with any infraction and not resorting to actions beyond its mandate.
The FRSC thus appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience and restraint in reacting to the development, assuring them that appropriate sanctions would be meted out to the officers after investigation.
