BREAKING: EFCC freezes Akwa Ibom State government’s account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen the bank accounts of the Akwa Ibom state government, TheCable has reported.

The online newspaper said a top official of the government disclosed this on Wednesday.

The source told the newspaper that Udom Emmanuel, the governor, and accountant-general of the state were shocked by the development.

It would be recalled that the commission blocked those of Benue government yesterday.

Efforts to speak with EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren proved abortive .
