Breaking: EFCC arrests former NBA chairman over alleged N25m fraud
The former Chairman of the Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yinka Farounbi, has been arrested over his alleged involvement in fraud to the tune of N25 million.
Mr. Farounbi was arrested on Monday by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at Ikeja during the monthly meeting which is usually held at the branch’s Bar Centre.
INDEPENDENT reports that he submitted himself to the operatives who came in their numbers to arrest him.
It was also gathered that Farounbi was arrested following a petition written by one Barrister Gabriel Opayinka alongside two others.
Prior to today’s arrest of the former Ikeja NBA Chairman, has been invited alongside the immediate past chairman of the Bar, Adesina Ogunlana, but he allegedly ignored the invitation while Ogunlana was said to have honored the invitation.
