BREAKING: DSS officially handover 82 rescued Chibok girls to FG
The 82 rescued Chibok girls have been handed over to the Ministry of Women Affairs to commence their rehabilitation.
The girls were handed over to the ministry today, Tuesday, May 30, by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The event took place at the Women Development Centre, Abuja, where a facility have been prepared for them.
The girls were formerly in the DSS medical facility where they were subjected to medical tests.
Speaking at the event, the minister of women affairs Aisha Alhassan said the facility has been upgraded to accommodate the 82 girls.
”They will be well taken care of here, their sisters have been here since they were released and as you can see, they are well taken care of.
”Everything has put in place to make sure they are comfortable,” she said.
Asked why the girls have not gone back to Chibok, the minister said none of them are held against their own will or that of their parents.
”Anyone that indicates interest to leave will be allowed to go, but none of them have said they want to leave,” she said.
