Breaking: APC bars ex-IGP from senatorial contest

The All Progressives Congress has barred a former Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, from seeking the party’s ticket for the 2019 senatorial seat.

The party announced its position in a statement by its Acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, on Tuesday, hours after it released the list of those cleared for the election.

Nabena said the National Working Committee did not clear Abba to contest the party’s Jigawa South Senatorial District primaries.

He said Abba’s name was erroneously included in the list of NWC-cleared aspirants.
