Biafra: You can stop MASSOB, IPOB agitation using guns – Ohanaeze warns Buratai
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nnia Nwodo has warned the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen Buratai that the agitation for the actualisation of Biafra by the Indigenous People of Biafra and Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, cannot be “halted by guns.”
He made the assertion while reaction faulting Buratai’s inquiry into the alleged killing of IPOB members by troops of the Nigeria Army recently.
Nwodo stated that the agitation for Biafra can only succeed if the “National Assembly orders a plebiscite and majority of the people in the area vote for it,” stressing that “the democratic expression for it cannot be halted by guns!!”
In a statement he signed, the Ohanaeze leader also frowned at the fact that his ceaseless call for judicial commission of inquiry on Army brutality fell on deaf ears until Amnesty International got involved.
The Ohanaeze leader frowned at the fact the situation where some members of MASSOB were allegedly hacked down by combined Police and Army personnel have remain uninvestigated.
According to the statement titled, “Buratai, with respect you cannot be a judge in your own court’ Nwodo said the Army Chief’s inquiry cannot stand the test of objectivity and as such its outcome would be rejected.
