Biafra at 50: Fools learn from experience, wise from history – Osinbajo
The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday urged Nigerians to learn from history of the country’s civil war rather than beat drums of a second civil war.
He gave the call at an event to mark the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra in Abuja.
The Acting President, who is currently delivering a keynote address at an event said, “while the wise learn from history, experience remains the best teacher for a fool.”
Osinbajo noted that while it is kinder to learn from history, experience is a harsh teacher.
Stressing that there was no harm in discussing the nation’s existence, Osinbajo called on Nigerians to use the country’s diversity to make her great “instead of trying to flee into the lazy comfort of homogeneity”.
