Benin Traditional Council appoints new CPS to Oba of Benin
ABIODUN JIMOH, BENIN CITY
Benin Traditional Council (BTC), has announced Mr. Victor Ogiemwanre as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II.
With this announcement, Ogiemwanre is replacing Desmond Agbama whose two years tenure has elapsed and since returned to the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), where he was deployed to the Oba Palace.
In a statement signed by Frank Irabor, Secretary of BTC was made available to journalists in Benin City, to intimate the general public on the new appointment.
The statement marked BTC. A6/VOL. VI/TI/170 read: “This is to inform the general public that Mr. Desmond Agbama who was posted from Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) to the Benin Traditional Council as the chief press secretary (CPS) to the Oba of Benin has completed his two year tour of duty in the palace, and therefore has returned to EBS.
“In the meantime, Mr. Victor Ogiemwanre is to act as CPS to the Benin Monarch pending the appointment of a substantive CPS.”
It could be recalled that Comrade Agbama was the former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, and a staff of EBS.
