Atiku Abubakar Foundation Awards Full Scholarships to Three Nigerian Teenagers for Global Academic Excellence
Three Nigerian teenagers—Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Fema, and Khadija Kalli—have been granted fully-funded scholarships by the Atiku Abubakar Foundation in recognition of their exceptional performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals.
In a letter dated August 5, 2025, and signed by Professor Ahmadu Shehu, Acting Secretary of the Foundation, the girls were praised for their “inspiring display of excellence and intellect on the global stage.” The scholarships will cover the remainder of their secondary education as well as their university studies, both locally and internationally.
Seventeen-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi earned global acclaim at the competition for her outstanding command of the English language, sharp critical thinking, and eloquence in public speaking—beating peers from six continents to clinch the top spot.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in a congratulatory statement released Wednesday, hailed Nafisa’s achievement as a reflection of Nigeria’s rich but often overlooked intellectual capacity.
The Foundation lauded the girls not just for their academic brilliance but for serving as symbols of hope and possibility for all children, regardless of their background or social status.
“Your remarkable success is a testament to the limitless potential of children to rise above challenges and achieve greatness,” the statement read.
The Atiku Abubakar Foundation reaffirmed its mission to expand access to quality education in Nigeria, with a strong emphasis on supporting girls and underserved communities. It emphasized its ongoing role in advancing the educational legacy of Atiku Abubakar, GCON, whose philanthropic vision continues to impact young lives across the nation.
