Atiku Abubakar Condoles with El-Rufai Family Over Death of Hajiya Safiya Ali Rufai

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed his condolences to the family of Nasir El-Rufai following the death of Hajiya Safiya Ali Rufai, a respected matriarch who passed away on Sallah day.

In a statement, Atiku described the late Hajiya Ali Rufai, fondly known as Aunty Safiya, as a compassionate figure who played a central role in the El-Rufai family. She was the wife of the late Air Vice Marshal Ali Rufai, elder brother of the former Kaduna State governor.

Atiku also noted the difficult timing of the loss, coinciding with the period during which El-Rufai, a key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is reportedly facing political detention under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Praying for solace for the grieving family, Atiku asked Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant her Jannah Firdaus, while providing comfort and strength to her loved ones during this period of mourning.
