Askira Attack: Boko Haram Killed Soldier, Scores Injured In Borno
Suspected member of Boko Haram, attack Askira town, Askira-Uba, local government, Headquarter of Borno state, killed one soldier, others were seriously injured in the attack.
Boko Haram terrorist stormed Askira town and started shooting sporadically targeting a military base before they were repelled in about 12 hours gun battle.
Credible source confirmed that the violent encounter which started about 4:25pm on Saturday, lasted to 4:20am on Sunday. The statement also confirmed that two corpses of Boko Haram members have been recovered.
Mallam Kaka, a resident of the town, said many soldiers who sustained injuries have been evacuated from the scene to a nearby hospital in Mubi, Adamawa state for treatment.
A hunter, who preferred anonymity said that several Boko Haram terrorists lost their lives, while only one soldier died in the encounter.
He added that the fleeing attacker went away with dead bodies of their members, leaving only two, whose remains were recovered in the town Sunday Morning.
Another Source said that some arms and ammunitions including logistics belonging to the military troops were carted away by the terrorists, while one of the vehicles of the terrorists were also destroyed by airstrike.

Residents told our correspondent that, hundreds of community members are fleeing to safe areas outside the town, while others were still hiding or missing in the bush for safety.
