APC Screening Committee Hails Yilwatda, Grants ‘Take a Bow’ at Convention Screening
The Aspirants’ Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, after clearing him with distinction and asking him to “take a bow” ahead of the 2026 National Convention.
The screening, held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, was conducted by a 42-member panel chaired by Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Committee members praised Yilwatda’s leadership and stewardship since assuming office, describing his performance as commendable and pivotal to the party’s stability. The “take a bow” endorsement, traditionally reserved for aspirants who meet all requirements with excellence and enjoy broad consensus, signals strong internal support for his continued leadership.
The screening exercise is part of preparations for the APC’s 2026 National Convention, where key party positions are expected to be contested. However, Yilwatda’s smooth and celebrated clearance is widely seen as reinforcing unity within the party’s ranks.
Party stakeholders and official channels have echoed the committee’s position, noting that the gesture reflects confidence in the chairman’s ability to strengthen party structures and guide the APC toward the 2027 general elections.
Observers say the development underscores a consolidation of leadership within the ruling party as it gears up for its next electoral cycle.
