APC Clears YAYI as Ogun Governorship Consensus Candidate for 2027
The All Progressives Congress has cleared Senator Adeola Solomon, popularly known as YAYI, as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
YAYI was screened and cleared on Saturday at the Kaduna Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, by the APC Governorship Screening Committee led by the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Obi Okoye.
Speaking after the exercise, the lawmaker said members of the committee commended his developmental strides in government and contributions to party affairs, describing him as a model within the APC.
According to him, committee members, including APC National Deputy Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosimi Meseko; APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Abdullahi Dayo Israel; and Hon. Tolu Bankole, praised his commitment to progressive governance and party development.
YAYI pledged to sustain his developmental initiatives in Ogun State and continue supporting the APC’s reform-driven agenda at both the state and national levels.
He was accompanied to the screening venue by a delegation of political associates and government officials from Ogun State and Abuja, including Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat (Gaco); Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Olabimtan; Hon. Kayode Amusan; Hon. Kunle Adeyemi; Hon. Babatunde Adejare; Hon. Otun Kope; Hon. Kolawole Moboluwaduro (KLM); Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele; and Hon. Lai Taiwo, among other supporters and well-wishers.
