APC Blasts ADC Over Edo Shooting Allegation, Demands Probe

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its claim linking the ruling party to a reported shooting incident involving ADC members in Edo State, describing the allegation as “baseless” and “premature.”

In a statement issued on February 25, 2026, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the ADC acted irresponsibly by accusing the APC without allowing security agencies to conduct a proper investigation.

The ruling party argued that the opposition group had overstepped by drawing conclusions ahead of law enforcement findings, warning that such actions undermine due process and public trust.

While condemning the reported violence, the APC called on police and other relevant authorities to carry out a thorough and swift investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible.

The party also suggested that investigators should examine internal disputes within the ADC, alleging that factional struggles among its leadership could be linked to the incident.

Dismissing any involvement, the APC maintained that it had no connection to the shooting, stressing that its focus remains on governance and recent electoral successes in the Federal Capital Territory, as well as in Rivers and Kano states.

The party further expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their continued support, reaffirming its commitment to national development under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The ADC has yet to formally respond to the APC’s latest remarks, as calls grow for an independent investigation into the Edo incident.
