Akpabio v Natasha: Olujimi weighed in, urges the later to settle out of court

Former Senate Minority Leader Abiodun Olujimi has weighed in on the dispute between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, urging the latter to drop her defamation lawsuit against Akpabio.

The dispute began over a seating arrangement, which escalated into a heated argument and eventually led to Akpoti-Uduaghan accusing Akpabio of sexual harassment during an interview with Arise Television.

Olujimi described Akpabio as humorous and someone who often makes light of situations, making him vulnerable to misinterpretation.

She described her experience working with Akpabio in the Senate, where she witnessed him and other male senators facing immense pressure and internalizing issues blown out of proportion.

Olujimi cautioned that taking the matter to court could make women appear emotionally unstable and urged Akpoti-Uduaghan to handle the situation better.

Instead, she suggested an amicable resolution, emphasizing that women need to be strong enough to face men in such disputes.

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki also weighed in on the issue, urging both parties to appear before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions to ensure a fair and transparent resolution.
