AIT Distance Self From Facebook Account Announcing Demise of Buhari

Authorities of African Independent Television,AIT, have distanced itself from a facebook account said to have been open by the organisation,which reported that Nigerian President, Muhammed Buhari has passed on in London.
Buhari is currently on 10 day holiday in London, where he is also receiving medical treatment. His purported death was mentioned in social media,which
include a fake facebook account alleged to be own by the television station.
However, in reaction to the development the management of the station under the umbrella of DAAR Communication in a statement made available, explained that it was falsehood that the television station opened such facebook account
‘The attention of the Management of DAAR Communications plc has been drawn to a Face Book Account Purportedly being Operated by Our Organization’,the statement said.
‘A Report was Published on the Facebook that the Incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammedu Buhari who is currently on vacation in London has Passed on.It is falsehood dressed up as truth that we opened Such FACEBOOK Account’,the statement said.
The Daar Communication, owner of the television station declared that,it does not know anything about the purported facebook,nor the published story.
‘We did not Publish nor Know anything about the Report.
None of our correspondents in London filed such report.
The Editorial Policy of our Organization is that any of our Correspondent is mandated to file all their reports for vetting and approval before publication which can only originate from our Headquarters’,the management declared.
The media outfit added further that, the facebook account was the brain child of a faceless and mischievous group whose despicable activities must be investigated by security agencies.
‘No Correspondent could individually On His or Her Own Decision Publish or Cause to be Published any story.The Face Book Account is the Brain Child of a Faceless and Mischievous group whose despicable activities must be investigated by security agencies because of the unpleasant consequences’.
‘We wish to State that AIT runs an Official On-Line site for News which is not available for use by outsiders. We dissociate ourselves from anything contained in the said report which is a figment of the imagination of the authors.
We also disown the So-called FACEBOOK Account, and have officially Reported to FACEBOOK Managers’,the statement emphasised.
