After 47 Minutes With DSS: Obadiah Mailafia Released

Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank (CBN), Dr. Obadiah Mailafia who was invited by the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) office Jos on Monday has been released after interrogation for 47 minutes.

Dr. Mailafia invitation to the DSS Jos Office on Monday was the second in less than one week.

Only Wednesday last week, Mailafia was a guest of the DSS where he was grilled for six hours and later released unconditionally.

The former CBN deputy governor has been in the radar of the DSS following an interview he granted an Abuja baed Radio FM during which he was alleged to have claimed that a sitting state governor from the North of the country is a commander of Boko Haram.

Addressing news men after his release, Dr Malafia lawyer, Barr. Yakubu Bawa said the invitation by the DSS was a build up on what really transpired last week.

Bawa added that the DSS treated Dr. Mailafia with decorum, honour and respect.”I want to say this, that there was no iota of molestation, harassment or intimidation of any form. What we want to emphasis is the fact that, Dr. Mailafia is a man that loves peace and his country dearly”, he said.
