Adeboye’s Resignation Is Irreversible- RCCG

Leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG has declared that the resignation of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye as the national general overseer is irreversible.

Speaking with newsmen at the Redemption Camp in Move, Ogun State Head of Media and Public Relations of the Church, Pastor Segun Adebiji said the appointment of the new leader of the church in Nigeria cannot be reversed.

Adebiji explained that the suspension of the corporate governance code by the FRCN will not affect any change in the church leadership, adding that plans are already underway by the church to appoint a new national leader before the enforcement of the law.

His words; “If you know Daddy GO (Adeboye) very well, he does not make such an important decision without consulting the church council, and most importantly, God. That decision has been made and it does not in any way affect his position as the general overseer of the RCCG.

“So, there is no need to reverse the decision after the federal government has suspended the implementation of the FRC law,” he said.

Following a law by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Pastor Adeboye resigned as the National Overseer, and appointed  Pastor Obayemi Joseph in his place, thus Adeboye General Overseer worldwide.
