ADC Slams Tinubu’s Tribute to Buhari, Calls it a “Publicity Stunt”

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s government for paying tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a calculated move to improve the administration’s public image.

The party expressed concerns over the timing and sincerity of the tribute, pointing out that the same government had previously distanced itself from Buhari’s policies and blamed him for the nation’s economic woes.

The ADC stated that the Federal Executive Council tribute was “a deliberate publicity stunt by an unpopular administration” and accused the government of exploiting the late President’s family for political gain.

The party accused the Tinubu administration of hypocrisy, saying it had spent over a year discrediting Buhari’s legacy only to now attempt to associate itself with his memory for political purposes.

The ADC condemned the government’s use of Buhari’s mourning son in the tribute, calling it “unconscionable” and “stage-managed” to distract from the administration’s failures.

The party expressed confidence that Nigerians can see through the government’s tactics and will not be swayed by public relations stunts.
