Accept your sack in good fate – Ex-aide advises Nunieh

Donu Kogbara, former media adviser to the recently sacked Acting Managing Director, Interim Management Committee, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mrs Joy Nunieh has advised her former principal to take the decision to relieve her of her duties in good fate.

Kogbara, a veteran journalist, gave the advice in a statement sent to journalists on Monday, July 13 while reacting to the recent controversy involving Nunieh and the minister of Niger Delta affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Nunieh and the minister have been throwing jabs at each other in the media for the last 48 hours.

According to Dogbara, the former NDDC boss should move on and stop raising issues that are untrue.

Senator Akpabio has been in the eye of the storm following his media battle with Nunieh.

She said that Nunieh’s claim that Akpabio attempted to force a corruption allegation against the chairman, Senate committee on NDDC, Peter Nwaoboshi, was baseless and untrue.

According to her, her former boss was a bad loser whose attitude left much to be desired.

Kogbara stressed that former NDDC boss should accept her sack in good fate, adding that the attempt to frame corruption charge against Nwaoboshi was initiated and executed by her.

According to the former aide, Nunieh played into the hands of those who don’t want her around.

“Even those who want you around will have a problem retaining you because there is clear evidence that you have broken the law or failed to do something critical.

My wish for her is, she should accept her dismissal graciously. Even if Akpabio is guilty of everything she has accused him of, at least the allegations on Nwaoboshi is not true,” she said.

He said her sack had nothing to do with corruption, saying she was removed after it was discovered that she lacked the qualifications to work as acting MD of the intervention commission.

Akpabio said Nunieh could not produce her National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate even after she claimed she served in Kwara state.
