A Peek Into Gorgeous Golding’s Mind ™: Now That You’re Single
EPISODE 015
By Gorgeous Golding™
Your days of singleness are not the days to merely reminisce about the past or fantasize about the future.
They are days to work on yourself.

Every opportunity you get to start afresh is a chance to rewrite your future, a chance to build something better, something different, and to correct the mistakes of yesterday.
Singleness is a season for reflection and self-introspection.
It is a season to be brutally honest with yourself.
Ask yourself difficult questions:
What happened in my last relationship?
How did I contribute to it?
How did that relationship affect me?
How has my first relationship affected my second one, or how could it affect my next one?
Am I truly healed?
Are there triggers in me that can be traced back to previous relationships?
Was I genuinely a good partner?
Was I kind?
Was I considerate?
Was I honest?
Was I faithful?
If not, why not?
Could my actions have fueled reactions in my partner that I later found unbearable?
Or vice versa?
Listen, let me explain how doing people wrong sometimes works.
It’s like using a slingshot and pulling it toward yourself. Eventually, the stone comes back and hits you. When it does, you feel hurt and betrayed, forgetting that what you’re experiencing may actually be the consequence of something you once released.
If you’re not careful, you’ll cling to that single emotion and build an identity around it, convincing yourself that you were hurt for no reason, when in reality, there were lessons you never stopped to learn.
No hurt or conflict should be swept under the carpet.
Talk about it.
Resolve it.
An unresolved conflict never stays the same. It grows. It becomes more complex. Like a virus, it spreads. Like wildfire, it respects no boundaries.
Your season of singleness is also not a season of isolation.
As you build and work on yourself, continue relating with people. Healthy relationships of every kind become opportunities to test the progress you’re making.
Are the same things still triggering you?
What is your tolerance level now?
Do you blame yourself for the mistakes of others?
Do you shut down in the middle of conflict?
Do you always make everything about yourself?
How do you respond to rejection?
Do you still struggle to trust people?
Do you give others the benefit of the doubt?
Pay attention to those responses.
Growth rarely happens overnight.
First, become aware.
Then, intentionally track your progress as you grow.
I believe a beautiful relationship, and even a beautiful marriage, is possible.
Not because two perfect people found each other, but because two imperfect people became aware of their imperfections and chose to grow together.
They agreed on a destination.
They established principles.
They communicated expectations.
And they remained committed to those principles as they grew, individually and together.
