A survivor was rescued alive after spending more than nine hours trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed three-storey building under construction in the Durumi 3 area near Gudu Market in Abuja.
The building reportedly collapsed on Friday, triggering an emergency rescue operation involving officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and other emergency responders.

The FCTA Mandate Secretary on Health, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, personally attended to the rescued victim immediately after he was brought out alive from the debris before he was moved to the hospital for further medical attention.
Authorities confirmed that five persons were brought out dead from the scene, while 11 others who sustained varying degrees of injuries are currently recovering in hospital.
