38 Eruku worshippers freed as Gov. AbdulRazaq hails Tinubu’s ‘hands-on’ role
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has announced the release of 38 persons abducted during the recent attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
The victims regained freedom on Sunday, November 23, after what the governor described as days of intense collaboration between security agencies and government authorities.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, Governor AbdulRazaq attributed the successful rescue operation to President Bola Tinubu’s “hands-on approach” and direct involvement. He said the President personally coordinated federal interventions after suspending his planned trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to address security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi states.
According to the governor, President Tinubu also ordered reinforced security deployments to Kwara, underscoring what AbdulRazaq called the President’s commitment to the safety of Nigerians.
The governor expressed profound gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Nigeria Police Force, which deployed four additional tactical teams to Kwara on the President’s orders.
He also commended the efforts of security personnel, community leaders, religious organisations, and residents of Kwara State for their support throughout the period of the crisis.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security and ensuring the wellbeing of all citizens.
