23 YEAR OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR BEHEADING 72 YEAR OLD WOMAN

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 23 year old man,Adeoye Ikugbayigbe for allegedly killing and beheading a female septugenerian.
The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer,Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Monday,adding that the suspect committed the crime in Abigi community of the state.
He said the suspect was arrested following a report by son of the woman,Ekundayo Shada who complained at Abigi Divisional Police Headquarters.
The son further told the police that, he was on his way to the farmland to see his mother,Funmilayo Shada, and met the suspect holding a polythene bag.
He said, the suspect sighting him dropped the polythene bag and took to his heels, a development which caused curiosity, and ran into the farm but couldn’t find her.
Shada said, on return to the polythene it was shocking to see severed head of her mother, it was thereafter police swooped into action and arrested the suspect.
‘The men of Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Adeoye Ikugbayigbe for killing a 72year old woman, Funmilayo Shada and severed the head on 17/03/2107’.
The police image maker said the Divisional Police Officer Abigi Division,Komolafe Omoniyi led detectives to the scene, combed the surrounding bush and finally got the suspect arrested.
‘On interrogation, he confessed to the commission of the crime claiming that he has been having running battle with the deceased over a portion of land’,he said.
Oyeyemi said,the severed head and the corpse has been deposited in the mortuary while the cutlass the suspect used has also been recovered.
‘The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Homicide section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID) for further investigation’,Oyeyemi said.
