2027: Go Collect Your PVCs, Lagos Council Boss Urges Residents

A member of Lagos state Renewed Hope Ambassadors, and Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Council, Princess Surah Animashaun, has urged residents of the council and state who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so without further delay ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Chairperson, popularly known as “Iya Ẹpẹ,” described the PVC as a vital instrument for citizens to exercise their democratic rights and elect leaders of their choice.

The Renewed Hope Ambassador made the appeal in a statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Ẹpẹ at the weekend, following the resumption of PVC distribution by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at designated ward-level centres.

She encouraged eligible voters to visit the appropriate collection centres to obtain their cards, stressing that active participation in the electoral process was essential to determining the country’s political future.

Princess Animashaun also urged residents who had already collected their PVCs to keep them safe ahead of the forthcoming elections.

She said, “The time has come again to go out en masse to obtain your Permanent Voter’s Cards as we approach the next general elections. INEC has resumed the distribution exercise, and it is incumbent on us as citizens to exercise our civic responsibility by collecting the PVCs and vote.

“In Ẹpẹ, there are uncollected PVCs that are still in the custody of the electoral umpire. Let us go there and collect ours, and for those who are yet to collect their PVCs, I am imploring us to do so without further delay. For those who already have their PVCs, please keep them safely.

“Our PVCs are our power and the only instrument to elect leaders of impeccable track records who would bring about the desired development and good governance.”

“I want to encourage us not to sell it, as it remains the only instrument to participate in the forthcoming election,” she added.

Princess Animashaun further cautioned residents against selling their PVCs, describing them as essential to meaningful participation in the democratic process.

She also called on Ẹpẹ residents and Lagosians generally to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging them to demonstrate their backing by voting overwhelmingly for the President’s re-election in 2027.
