2027: Ex-Presidential Candidate Adesanya-Davies Dumps Former Position, Backs Tinubu
Princess Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies (PMA) has announced the establishment of a campaign team to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The development represents a shift in the political direction of the PMA Campaign organisation, which said the new structure would focus on grassroots mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, women and youth participation, strategic communication and volunteer coordination.
In a statement signed by CPA Wellington Joy Klinton on behalf of the Office of the Former Female Presidential Candidate, the organisation said the decision followed extensive consultations and an assessment of the prevailing political landscape.
According to the statement, the campaign team will bring together experienced coordinators, community mobilisers, communication professionals, youth representatives, women leaders and other stakeholders committed to its objectives.
PMA said the team would operate with discipline and transparency while engaging citizens through issue-based discussions and constructive participation in the democratic process.
The organisation urged its members and supporters to remain united and peaceful as preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather momentum.
It added that further details on the composition, responsibilities and activities of the campaign team would be unveiled in due course.
The statement also highlighted PMA’s role as the current Matron of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria (NACLFON) in Nigeria and the Diaspora.
The forum, described by PMA as the Christian wing of the All Progressives Congress mobilising Christian support for the party, is chaired by Prof. O. Abraham.
PMA said the decision to support Tinubu was based on its assessment of the administration’s policies, projects and achievements over the past three years, adding that the period ahead would be an opportunity to mobilise support for the President.
