2027 Elections a Defining Moment for Nigeria, Says ADA
The All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has cautioned that the 2027 general elections must mark a turning point in Nigeria’s history, warning that the country cannot afford another wasted opportunity.
Speaking in Abuja on Sunday, the party’s Protem National Secretary, Dr. Umar Ardo, said both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had failed the nation and should no longer be entrusted with power.
“The hour of decision is now. Nigeria cannot endure another wasted election cycle. 2027 cannot be business as usual,” Ardo declared.
He accused successive administrations led by the APC and PDP of dragging the country into economic hardship, political turmoil, and social disunity. “The recycled politicians of APC and PDP have lost every moral right to lead. Their stranglehold on power is a death sentence for Nigeria’s survival,” he stated.
Ardo argued that what the nation requires is a genuine political rebirth. He called on patriotic elites, professionals, and young people to unite under the ADA platform to deliver a new beginning for the country. “Together, we can ignite a political renaissance founded on justice,” he said.
The ADA, which recently secured provisional approval from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is positioning itself as a credible alternative to the country’s two dominant parties.
According to Ardo, since Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999, its vast resources have been squandered by a political class he described as “visionless, venal, corrupt, and insensitive,” enriching themselves while leaving ordinary citizens to suffer poverty and insecurity.
He cautioned Nigerians not to fall into the same cycle in 2027, noting that the very politicians who “wrecked the present and mortgaged the future” are once again preparing to contest under the same old banners.
“ADA is more than a political party; it is the moral rebirth of the nation. Nigerians must seize this moment to salvage democracy, restore dignity, and rebuild our country,” Ardo concluded.
