The NPC intends to commit political parties and their spokespersons to conduct their campaign (both online and offline) in a peaceful manner, devoid of ethnic, religious and hateful rhetoric to incite violence and to promote a focus on issue-based campaign

The initiative was conceived in 2014 in response to emerging threats occasioned by the 2015 general elections.

Ralph Nwosu disgraced at National Peace Summit.

This came just as the immediate past Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was publicly disgraced at the occasion when Kachikwu the Presidential candidate of the Party distanced himself from him telling him to his face that he was no longer the Chairman! of the party and as such had no business signing the peace accord on behalf of the party.

At that point the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Interim Caretaker Chairman Senator Patricia Akwasheke
signed on behalf of the party.

Members of the audience were surprised when they saw the former chairman who claimed to have expelled the party’s presidential candidate struggling to stand next to him and take photos with him as Kachikwu ignored him.

Recall that Nwosu had said the party have no Presidential candidate hence his presence at a Presidential peace signing accord ceremony surpassed the audience
