2023: Combination Of Lai Mohammed, Saraki, PDP Can’t Stop Abdulrazak’s Reelection- Senator Umar

The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar on Tuesday said the combined forces of Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information, Senator Gbemi Saraki, Minister of State for Transportation and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot stop the reelection of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak in 2023.

Speaking on Channels television programme ‘Politics Today’ monitored by Daily Independent, the Senator said the governor has performed creditably well since assuming office, adding that any attempt to overthrow his government may plunge the state into mayhem.

He also said the governor who is a grassroots leader enjoys the support of the three senators in the state, five out of the six House of Representatives members and 22 out of the 24 members of the state House of Assembly 

“Honestly speaking, nobody can stop the governor from getting reelected and almost everybody knows that including those who disagree with him”.

“I can tell you that authoritatively. All three senators in the state are with the governor. Out of six House of Representatives members, five of them are with the governor. Out of 24 House of Assembly members, 22 are with the governor.”

“He will be reelected with a wider margin than he got in 2019”, he said.
