₦25.52bn raised for National Library as Oluremi @65 Education Fund Closes
Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has announced the successful conclusion of the Oluremi @65 Education Fund, raising over ₦25.52 billion in support of education and the construction of the National Library.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the First Lady expressed profound gratitude to Nigerians, friends, family members, and well-wishers who contributed to the fund, which was established to mark her 65th birthday on September 21, 2025.
According to the statement, the initiative received a total sum of ₦25,520,708,074.35, reflecting what she described as a shared national commitment to education, knowledge preservation, and sustainable development.
Senator Tinubu noted that the overwhelming support demonstrated unity and goodwill among Nigerians, adding that the project would significantly strengthen the country’s educational infrastructure through the development of the National Library.
She further announced that the dedicated donation account for the Oluremi @65 Education Fund would be officially closed on December 31, 2025. She clarified that the project is being supervised by the Honourable Minister of Education and that any further contributions should be directed through the Federal Ministry of Education.
“I am deeply encouraged by the goodwill and unity this initiative has inspired,” the First Lady stated, while thanking all donors for supporting what she described as a worthy national cause.
She concluded the statement by wishing Nigerians and their families a peaceful and prosperous 2026.
