‎FIBAN Set To Establish Training Academy For Members

Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria,(FIBAN), has revealed its  proposed plan to establish a training academy for its members across the country.
The plan was made known on Friday by  President of the association,Desmond Nwachukwu at the inauguration of  a 5-man committee on training and orientation of its members across the country,held  at the Ogun State Secretariat of the body located at NUD road,Abeokuta.
The membership include: Felix Asegbe(Ogun), R.A Ijawoye(Ondo), Dr Bade Ojuade(Oyo),Adejumo Sijuade(Osun) and Olatokunbo Babs- Olurinde(Lagos)
 National President of the Association, Desmond Nwachukwu in his speech  said the set up of the committee was in line with his electoral promise for regular knowledge update of members.
Elected on January 19 to lead the association,Nwachukwu pointed out that,broadcasting has gone beyond lacking academic values,stressing that,the training would be break into short term and long term training.
He explained that those appointed as committee members were found with qualities required to fashion out academic policy which would be beneficiaries to members.
The President added further that, the choice of the committee was joint responsibilities of National Executive Members at a meeting,calling on them to perform to expectation.
Hear him ‘We shall reposition FIBAN to its rightful place in the profession. We are also going to establish contacts with other professional bodies’
However,in the entourage of the FIBAN boss are some national officers which include; ‎ Helen Njoku  (2nd National Vice President, Seun Awodele (National (Treasurer) and  Okunlola Olanrewaju (National Assistant Genneral Secretary).
Similarly,notable dignatories at the event also include; Yemisi Bamgbose(former President of RATTAWU), Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(former Zonal Secretary,Nigeria Union of Journalists),Dr Goke Rauf(Director of Communications,Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,Abeokuta) and Bose Apanisile(Ogun State Director,National Broadcasting Corporation) among others.
