Former Adamawa North senator, Ishaku Abbo, has formally exited the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing unresolved internal disputes within the party’s structure in Adamawa State.

In a statement released on Monday, Abbo pointed to the worsening leadership crisis at the state level as the primary reason for his resignation, noting that the situation had made continued membership untenable.

His departure follows closely on the heels of a similar move by supporters of Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), whose faction also withdrew from the party just two days earlier, highlighting growing fractures within the ADC in Adamawa.

Abbo is expected to formally declare his next political affiliation before the end of the week.

While he has yet to reveal the party he will join, insiders suggest consultations are ongoing as part of a broader political realignment in the state.

The back-to-back defections have raised fresh questions about the stability and future of the ADC in Adamawa, with analysts predicting further shifts as political actors reposition ahead of upcoming contests.
