Subsidy Removal Enabled Major Infrastructure Development – Enugu Governor
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has credited the removal of fuel subsidies by the Tinubu administration as a key factor in unlocking funds for the state’s ambitious infrastructure projects.
Speaking during a courtesy visit at the Enugu Government House by a federal government delegation led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, Governor Mbah noted that the policy shift has provided the fiscal space needed to deliver on campaign promises.
The visit formed part of the two-day Citizens’ Engagement Series in the South East.
“President Tinubu’s courageous decision to end fuel subsidies has allowed us to redirect significant resources towards meaningful development,” the governor stated.
He highlighted ongoing initiatives, including the construction of 7,000 classrooms, 3,300 hospital beds, and 2,000 hectares of farm estates—one in each of the state’s 260 wards.
Governor Mbah further expressed full support for the federal government’s reform agenda, affirming that the people of Enugu stand to benefit from its long-term impact.
