Jackson Gaius Obaseki @ 80 Birthday Golf Tournament Tees-Off Wednesday
As the golden morning sun casts its warm glow over the beautifully manicured fairways of Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) in Edo State, the atmosphere will be electrified with excitement and palpable anticipation for Dr. Jackson Gaius Obaseki @ 80 Birthday Golf Tournament.
The occasion is a spectacular celebration of a milestone birthday of Dr. Obaseki’s who attained the Octogenarian stage in good health and it will be marked with this prestigious golf tournament in his honor.
The golf tournament, a fitting tribute to the former Group Managing Director (GMD), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will tee-off tomorrow, Wednesday till Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the club.
BCGS Captain, Engr. Stephen Ebaretonbofa speaking to sports writers on Sunday disclosed that it is an invitational golf tournament anticipated to feature over 200 golfers across Nigeria and beyond.
The captain added that the birthday tournament is organised by the BCGS Management Committee and other notable members in the club.
Furthermore, he affirmed that friends, family, and golfing buddies will gather to mark this significant milestone, sharing stories, laughter, and a few golf swings on the course.
However, the excitement builds as the tournament schedule unfolds on Wednesday with the Caddies taking center stage while on Thursday, the professional golfers take to the course, competing for top honors.
On Friday is day of friendly rivalry as veteran ladies and men’s, super veteran men, ladies hcp 29 – 26, and men’s hcp 19 – 28 take part in the golf festivities to showcase their skills.
Similarly, the grand finale on Saturday is the culmination of a spectacular event for the special guests, guests, regular ladies hcp 0-28, and regular men hcp 0-18 categories as the best of the best compete for the top spot.
Also, the dinner and presentation ceremony is slated for evening as winners will be presented with beautiful trophies and fabulous prizes.
Meanwhile, medical personnel for the NNPC will be on standby to check vital signs and perform basic blood tests. A doctor, nurse, and ambulance will be available for first aid and emergencies.
