NPFL/La Liga U-15 Promises Tournament: Delta Force advance to quarterfinal, as Enyimba bid farewell

ABIODUN JIMOH, BENIN CITY

Delta Force U-15 Soccer Team became the first team to book a quarterfinal ticket at the Benin zone of the NPFL/La Liga U-15 Promises Tournament holding across four zones in the country.

The Delta boys on Thursday beat Enyimba FC youth team by four goals to two at the University of Benin sports complex, Ugbowo, to record nine maximum points from three matches played so far, while the last match on Friday will just be a formality.

In another development, Enyimba FC youth team also became the first team to be knocked out of the tournament in the zone having played all its four games, thus won one victory, and lost three.

In the other game played, Rivers United youth team came from a goal down to defeat Heartland FC youth team two goals yo one, thus make the second qualifier in the zone apparently open for other three teams.

Meanwhile, the final round of matches billed for Friday will decide which other team joins Delta Force in the last eight, as Sunshine FC youth team (6pts) trade tackle with Rivers United (3pts), while Heartland FC (3pts) will be all out against Delta Force (9pts).

At the Enugu zone, Akwa United youth team and FC Ifeanyi Uba youth team settled for one all draw just as Abia Warrior slammed Remo Stars by three goals to one.
