Nasarawa Govt Moves To Clamp Down On Robbers, Kidnappers, Flush Out Street Beggars

As part of its commitment to address all forms of insecurity in the state, the Nasarawa State government on Thursday moved to clamp down on armed robbers and kidnappers in the state.

These were part of resolutions made at the end of expanded security meeting presided over by Governor Abdullahi Sule, held at the government House Lafia, the state capital.

The meeting, which had in attendance all first class chiefs and emirs and all heads of security agencies, resolved to flushed out the Almajiri system in the state.

Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting State Commissioner, Emmanuel Longe said the insecurity problem bedevilling the state was in a connection where Nasarawa is sharing a boundary with five states in the north central.

He said the state has made up of their minds to tackle all road links into and from Nasarawa State.

Also speaking the Emir of Keffi, Chido Yamusa, who given the opportunity to address the press said the have result to flush Almajiri system and will make street begging is separated Almajiri system to reduce street beggars in the state.

He said the Almajiri system has been in existence for over 300 years ago and is a system of education most Islamic undergo through it.

He said the inventory of all Almajiri schools will be taken and a number of students and their staff in order reduced street beggars in the state.
