Group accuses Ogboru of defrauding APC over N3billion election fund
Coalition of Delta All Progressive Congress, APC, Support Group has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party to set up a panel of inquiry for Chief Great Ogboru to explain the whereabouts of the huge financial provisions for the entire 2019 general elections.
Prince Daniel Ekiugbo, the convener, told correspondent our that it is of public knowledge that Ogboru presented a budget of over N3billion which was over funded and available to him.
He said there was no evidence anywhere that he spent N1billion for the elections as e refused to properly disburse and chose to release paltry amounts only to his few chosen supporters.
While insisting that Ogboru should be probed, he said APC as a mega party cannot be broughtto the low level of mushroom political parties where Ogboru has been practising his hit-and-run politics of election racketeering and getting away with the dubious acts.
“We also have it in goof authority that commissioner positions were sold N50million each in advance to raise funds that were diverted from the campaigns.
Flanked by other group members, he insisted thay the group is presently exploring the option of internal option as Option A and that the next option is to invite the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate the allegations.
“Our deepest sympathies goes to the teeming population of Delta APC membership who dearly desired change as encased which however could not materialise following the misadventures of Ogboru which was purely driven by selfish ambition to rake-in election fundswithout any strategies put in place to guarantee victory”
Ekiugbo also wants the NWC to immediately review the outcome of the Delta APC overall performance in the election, the funds received by the Campaign Council, the disbursement of funds and those who received the finds at various LGAs and to review the results from each polling units across the state.
“Even for his LGA rallies, he never released one kobo, instead he directed that local lesders and supporters task themselvesto fund such rallies and because most leaders could not raise such funds, a lot of LGA rallies were either abandoned or turn out to be huge flops”
“Ogboru acted like a man determined to fail at all costs by ignoring and refusing to carry along even the old APC members who joined him with Prophet Jones Erue. He stubbornly chose to work with only the few Labour Party people who he came into the APC with”
However, Erue in his reaction said he was not aware of such money, calling on the accussers to come up with proves.
