Breaking: Suspected IPOB Members Attack Abia CP’s Residence, Burn Cars

A mob suspected to be made up of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra has attacked the residence of the Commissioner, Abia State Police Command, Adeleye Oyebade, Television Continental is reporting.
According to the television station, the attackers burnt down cars in the official residence of the Commissioner of Police.
Abia State has witnessed a lot of tension in the last few days, starting with the attack on a convoy of the Nigerian Army by suspected members of IPOB close to the residence of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
The convoy was on a show of strength when the confrontation happened.
The tension had quickly spread to Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the State, necessitating the declaration of curfew by the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
The curfew, which was initially meant to end on Thursday (today), has been extended to Friday by Ikpeazu.
